António Varela calls on Cape Verdeans to fight for transparency and honesty

In his communication, Varela criticizes what he describes as a long period of decisions taken "in the shadows", where the population - the "true heart of this nation" - has been marginalized. According to him, this situation must end "once and for all". The businessman reinforces the need for leaders with courage and vision, who prioritize the interests of every Cape Verdean, and who ensure that the country's wealth is shared by all, and not just by an elite.
Varela paints a picture of an ideal future for Cape Verde, where young people are not forced to emigrate to Europe or the United States in search of a better life. He imagines a country where opportunities flourish locally, where children can dream without limits and where the elderly can return with dignity to live out their final years.
